Long before their incarnation as 1970s pop-rock titans, Fleetwood Mac was one of the strongest and most devoted blues bands of the British Invasion. Formed by Peter Green after leaving John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, the early Mac was fanatically devoted to the Chicago sound. Green's haunting, out-of-phase Les Paul tone was heavily modeled on B.B. King and Elmore James.
