King Solomon Hill

Few artists have generated as much debate as King Solomon Hill, who recorded six haunting, falsetto-laden tracks for Paramount in 1932. His 'Whoopee Blues' features spectacular, otherworldly slide guitar work. Blues historian Gayle Dean Wardlow argued Hill was a man named Joe Holmes from Mississippi, but his true identity remains one of the most debated questions in blues scholarship.
