Leroy Foster was a massive, unsung architect of the postwar Chicago blues sound. A foundational member of Muddy Waters's band in its earliest electric days, he provided vocals, guitar, and drums. He famously sang lead on the iconic 1950 'Rollin' and Tumblin'' on Parkway with Muddy backing him. Severe alcoholism derailed his career, leading to his premature death before he could achieve solo stardom.
