Dan Pickett

Dan Pickett was a brilliant but deeply obscure East Coast blues musician who recorded a single spectacular session for Gotham Records in 1949. His real name was James Fason, though this was debated for decades. His rhythmic, driving guitar style showed heavy influence from Tampa Red and Blind Boy Fuller. For years his true identity was a mystery until researchers traced the pseudonym to Fason of Alabama.
