Andrew Hogg, known as Smokey Hogg, was a Texas blues guitarist and singer who was one of the most prolific recording artists of the late 1940s and early 1950s. He recorded for Modern, Specialty, Imperial, Sittin' In With, and numerous other labels, often recording the same songs for multiple companies under different names. His relaxed, Lightnin' Hopkins-influenced style and his prolific output made him a consistent presence on the R&B charts, with 'Long Tall Mama' and 'Little School Girl' being among his biggest hits.
