Waylon Jennings

Waylon Jennings was the quintessential Outlaw country artist, but his musical core was forged in the Texas-Southwest mix of country, R&B, and early rock and roll. His deepest debt was to rockabilly and his early mentor Buddy Holly. His stripped-down, Fender Telecaster-driven 1970s recordings bridged the gap between traditional country, Southern rock, and the underlying blues structures of rockabilly.
