Leslie Johnson, known as Lazy Lester, was the rhythmic engine of the Excello Records swamp blues sound. Discovered by J.D. Miller, his laid-back vocal drawl and minimalist harmonica playing created classics like 'I'm a Lover Not a Fighter' and 'Sugar Coated Love.' He also played rhythm guitar and percussion on countless sessions for Lightnin' Slim and Slim Harpo, proving influential on British Invasion bands.
